On the Red Carpet at Pens to Lens

Pens to Lens is an example of the incredible community we have here in Champaign County. Filmmakers and crew from Champaign Movie Makers combine with support from 40 North, CUDO, and the Champaign Park District to create a wonderful event and bring kids’ scripts to life. Then there’s a screening with a Red Carpet (shown here with me on it) at the Virginia Theatre.

These kinds of fabulous events are what makes our County special. In the same way that I ran a movie theater to create a space for artists to show their work, I see the County government (and municipalities) as a platform on which people can build groups and create happenings.
